Developing Active Flexibility

As a student of pole and aerial, you’ll likely be constantly on the lookout for ways to improve your flexibility. If you’re an instructor, you may be looking to provide additional tools to your students to help them on the way to their goals. Whichever it is, developing your abilities through active flexibility training can help you reach your goals.

This course will provide you with simple, usable definitions of active stretching and active flexibility and take a look at how active stretching compares with other methods of stretching. We’ll explore evidence from studies into the technique of active stretching, the risks and benefits of active stretching. You’ll find a series of floor-based active stretching exercises suitable for a range of ability levels, along with suggestions for practical application to pole and aerial. Finally, we’ll cover case studies from experienced practitioners that show how they apply active stretching in their practice, with first-person testimonials.
