This two-day in-person course will focus on advanced teaching and coaching skills, while challenging your strength and flexibility, and further exploring dynamic movement.
The course allows personal interaction with our qualified tutor and an in-person practical assessment. On successful completion of the training course you will leave with an advanced level Spin City certification in aerial hoop.
PRE-COURSE PREPARATION:
Before the course you will need to watch the online videos and read through the electronic course manual.
FACE-TO-FACE COURSE:
The weekend includes full training from one of our tutors. Over the weekend you will be assessed on what you have been taught through theory and practical assessments.
The theory assessment is a written quiz with some multiple choice and short answer questions based on information from the course.
The practical assessment will require you to demonstrate a combination of five moves from the course, teach three moves from the course and perform the core moves from the course with correct technique.

Event FAQs
You will need to have completed the Spin City Intermediate Hoop Course or an equivalent endorsed certification. We also recommend a minimum of 3 years' hoop experience.
You must be 18 or over to complete a certification with Spin City, otherwise the certificate will be invalid. You will be asked to confrim that you meet the age requirements at the time of booking.
The course price includes lifetime access to our course video library, PDF course manuals, access to a pre- and post-course mentor by email/phone and a full weekend's tuition with one of our qualified tutor assessors.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a hard copy certificate.
There is a course manual to read and you’ll also need to watch the course videos. Everything else is covered on the training weekend.
This course will provide you with the final block of moves in our core syllabus with the focus at this level on strong postural alignment, clean execution and bilateral training in all movements. This will be followed by an in-depth look at dynamic movement; we will be increasing the difficulty level of the rolls covered in our Intermediate course then adding on the core advanced drops, both top to bottom bar and drops that move between two different grip points. We will discuss how your role as an instructor will develop as students move into a more autonomous stage of their training and how you can foster creativity safely in a class environment. We will look at advanced progress chains, along with beneficial areas of cross training are identified such as advanced flexibility.
No – you don’t need to be able to do all the moves from the course our tutor will recap the technique for each move and explain how to teach them safely.
You will need to be able to perform the Core moves; these are the compulsory moves required for the technical assessment. The core moves are listed on our course index page.

Our courses are recognised by insurers worldwide and your certificate will assist you to obtain public liability and professional indemnity insurance that will cover you for teaching.
The Spin City courses have been written for adults who are apparently healthy in the general population. With your certificate you can expect your insurers to cover you to teach adults over the age of 18.
Insurance companies will require you to hold an additional certification to teach any group that is termed as a 'special population', which includes children and young people (under the age of 18), older adults (over the age of 55), pre- and post-natal women and those with disabilities.
Theory: if you do not pass the theory test, your tutor will give you time to review the unit information and retake the test on the weekend; they may ask supplementary questions as part of the retake. If you are unable to retake the theory test on the course weekend, you will be given a chance to complete it online.
Practical: in the event of a ‘referral’ in any of the practical units, you will receive detailed feedback and an action plan that will give clear instructions of what we will need to see for you to achieve a full pass. You may be able to retake the unit over the weekend. If not you will be handed over to our online assessor and mentor who will provide you with support over email/phone and who will guide you through the reassessment process.
You will have up to 6 months to complete your practical re-assessment by video submission.

You may be able to carry out your assessment at a later date, within 6 months of your course. A video submission can be sent in at no additional cost. An additional face-to-face assessment may be arranged at an additional cost - full details are available upon request.
Contact us as soon as possible for any changes to your course booking.You can transfer to another date/venue for the same course, provided you give us at least 30 days’ notice. There is a £45 fee to transfer which must be paid before the course transfer can be completed.
Within 30 days of the course you can cancel your attendance and receive a 50% refund of the price paid.
